If you are unwell REST

If you are feeling unwell rest!!. You are better to spend a few hours resting up or an early night instead of crashing for a week exhausted with the flu. This can be very difficult for many of us, we have to do the washing, drive the kids to soccer practice, meet the deadline at work, but look at delegation, what can you let go of, what is a priority to you ? Do you do something restful for yourself every day, do you take some time out to mediate daily, sit quietly, read a book, take a bath, enjoy a movie or tv show? I love to read, for me it is going to bed and reading for half an hour before I go to sleep, I find I sleep so much better. It is my time, no kids and often my husband is in the lounge watching some mindless show on tv. I am also making the time to sit still normally at the end of a yoga practice and do a short daily meditation, which includes breath awareness, when I do this, I find my mind is clearer and my concentration is better throughout the day, I set my self-direction and focus for the day. I will always include an intention for the day, maybe something like “be happy, and give love” and will repeat it to myself 3 times at the end of my practice. Checking out for negative thought patterns during the day, “oh this weather is shit” so it is raining, use you umbrella and rain coat the rain will pass and it saves you washing the car today. Be aware of how you are feeling and avoid suppressing it with negative thoughts or drugs. Rest and visualize wellness, it will come.
