Allergy Testing explained

Posted on 19 April, 2015 at 18:55

You might be suffering from fatigue, irritable bowel, skin condition, constipation, nausea,  rashes etc.  Do you think you may have a food allergy and have would like to know what is the trigger?  I have used the allergy intolerance testing for many years in my clinic and have found that it has helped a large variety of clients over the years, from babies to older adults.  Often foods that we react to the most are the foods we have frequently and we really love, hence we are having too much of a good thing some times.  Either that or we can have a strong eversion to the food and avoid eating it.  I had a young client of 9 earlier this week, please don't tell me it is dairy, I love pizza and cheese,  and yes i had to kindly inform her that she was intolerant to dairy (casein) and that she will be best to avoid cheese for the next few months.  Her mother also was suffering from a dairy intolerance with very different symptoms.  Great news for them that they can make dietary changes together and support each other.

Allergy/Intolerance Testing Explained. Using a hair sample the hair is tested against many different foods, dairy, casein, lactose, gluten, soya, fruits and vegetables, food additives and preservatives, environmental irritants. Results are shown with the degree of response from the hair. This test can be more effective at picking up food intolerances.

RAST tests, are a skin prick test commonly ordered by GP’s for allergy testing . They show the immediate immune response or IgE response, for some foods such as eggs, nuts, dairy, dust and animal dander.  Many people have had this done from there GP before coming to see me and often report nothing noted, but still have the symptoms.

Included in my testing is a half hour consult and written report, so you are able to understand and implement dietary changes as needed.
