Becoming a Yogi Teacher in 2014

Posted on 1 September, 2014 at 16:50

After practisisng yoga for many years I am now completing my level one, teacher training certificate of 200 hours.  It has been a journey I have thorughly enjoyed whilst working full time contract naturopath job.  I am pleased to say I graduate in late September from this course at the Ashram in Parnell.  I have learnt many things for myself whilst I learn skills to share with others.  Developing my own daily practice,  meditation and pranayama (breathing),  have experienced better energy levels, better sleep,  sustained over the day,  regulation of menses, increased flexibility and movemnet in my shoulders and a more positive outlook on life.  I will continue to share this story with you in future blogs.

My preference is for a daily practise for about 30 minutes before work in the morning, it was a sure fire way to get your throught a working day, sitting behind a desk.  I did experiment with some evening session,  was always a good time to practice meditation.  I came home from work one day feeling mentally fatigued, busy day of callers,  I excused my self from the family, spent 20 minutes doing some pranayama and meditation, came back feeling some refreshed and enjoyed my evening with the family.

I am now teaching a monday night class for beginners which I am thoroughly enjoying to share the experience with others, enjoying the yoga benefits. I am wanting to develop some futher classes Stretch and Relax classes coming coming soon, 40 minutes of stretching and 20 minutes of deep relaxation,  all this in only an hour.
